A live edge tables bring natural shapes and forms into your home or work space while providing function and unmatched strength. Rustic yet elegant, this piece displayed here is fabricated from big leaf maple wood with epoxy fills, and set upon a raw and varnished steel base.  The table displayed here has a lowered metal channel in the middle that can be filled with stones or material of your choice.  The base is a hybrid X-frame design with 3″x3″ metal tubing and sturdy maple connectors.  Pricing depends on specifications of the piece. This design is approximately a 140″ by 48″ slab, and a table this size would be priced at $12-15k.  If you are considering live edge, please contact us and we will walk you through the process.   We will direct you to a few of our live edge distributors where you can hand pick your piece.

FAQ

What are the lead times?

We are currently at 10-12 weeks standard from day of deposit. Express options are available upon request. 

What is the best finish?

There's no wrong answer here. We stand by each finish we offer, either a natural oil or varnish finish. Each finish has advantages and disadvantages and depends on your lifestyle and needs.

Here at the wood-shop we always like to recommend a natural oil/wax finish. Timeless, classic, natural feeling and color of the wood. With an oil finish, you can repair any damaged area yourself. Natural oil does require maintenance on the client's end. Extra coats of oil early on helps protect the wood for decades to come. With varnish, there is zero maintenance on your end, but similar to your floors or cabinets, if the varnish is scratched, it cannot be repaired. 

Do we template and/or install?

Yes we do both! 

Can I choose a different edge?

Yes, we have several edge profiles to choose from. All of our edge profiles can be seen at this link here.

Can I change the design?

Yes, most of our designs are customizable in respect to the wood type, finish, edging, etc. Please send us an inquiry at the link here for more information and to receive a custom quote.
