Extra care and maintenance early on will set you up for a fantastic piece of furniture for years to come!  Our furniture care kit comes packaged with a jar of  Oil/Wax blend finish, a lint free cloth, and a fine grade steel wool pad along with instructions and steps.

Oil/Wax finish is a blend of linseed oil and beeswax and provides excellent protection against water and liquids.  Used by professional woodworkers on bare or stained wood to provide a lower-gloss, antique sheen and long lasting protection.

FAQ

What are the lead times?

We are currently at 10-12 weeks standard from day of deposit. Express options are available upon request. 

What is the best finish?

There's no wrong answer here. We stand by each finish we offer, either a natural oil or varnish finish. Each finish has advantages and disadvantages and depends on your lifestyle and needs.

Here at the wood-shop we always like to recommend a natural oil/wax finish. Timeless, classic, natural feeling and color of the wood. With an oil finish, you can repair any damaged area yourself. Natural oil does require maintenance on the client's end. Extra coats of oil early on helps protect the wood for decades to come. With varnish, there is zero maintenance on your end, but similar to your floors or cabinets, if the varnish is scratched, it cannot be repaired. 

Do we template and/or install?

Yes we do both! 

Can I choose a different edge?

Yes, we have several edge profiles to choose from. All of our edge profiles can be seen at this link here.

Can I change the design?

Yes, most of our designs are customizable in respect to the wood type, finish, edging, etc. Please send us an inquiry at the link here for more information and to receive a custom quote.
